Reaction to Neil Gaiman’s Ocean at the End of the Lane

The Thing that Called Itself

In the yellow basin just my size

I see things how I want and say goodbye

to whoever taught me to wear my grown-up mask

it’s better this way if I have her heart

and she finds it’s worth the new view

don’t worry if I’ve hidden my name in perspective

because the feline ocean’s told me hers
